Who We Are
Founded in 1982, RMR Elevator is a family-owned and operated business with deep roots in the elevator industry. Started by Bob alongside his father and brother, the company began as a small operation focused on elevator maintenance and repair. Over the years, RMR Elevator has grown and diversified, expanding into the installation of commercial and residential elevators, dumbwaiters, vertical wheelchair lifts, and more.
Our journey began with installing residential elevators and dumbwaiters by Sedgwick Machine, and today we proudly offer products from leading manufacturers such as Matot, Harmar Industries, Cambridge Elevating, Elevator Concepts, Canton Elevator, and Pflow Industries. We specialize in installing commercial elevators, Limited Use Limited Application (LULA) elevators, and vertical reciprocating conveyors, ensuring our clients have access to top-of-the-line equipment.
Modernization is a key part of our business, as we help clients upgrade older elevator systems to meet modern standards of efficiency, reliability, safety, and performance. We understand that today’s elevator technology offers smoother, more energy-efficient operation, and we are dedicated to bringing these advancements to our customers.

The Team
Robert J. Shipley
General Manager / Sales
Bob, who initiated the company's founding, now oversees sales, customer service, and overall management. With certifications from the National Association of Elevator Contractors and licenses in New Jersey and New York City, Bob brings a wealth of expertise to the firm.
Ron Clavijo
Accounts Receivable
Ron Clavijo joined RMR in April 2017 as a helper and quickly advanced to mechanic, leading elevator installations. He later transitioned to accounts receivable, where he now manages our billing and assists the office team when needed.
Peter Bergfeldt
Sales
Peter Bergfeldt joined RMR in July 2013 as a temporary truck driver but quickly proved invaluable. He advanced to mechanic, earned his NJ Elevator Mechanic license, and now works in sales, providing technical support to the field team. His 'can-do' attitude remains a key asset.
